"A friend dropping by each week"

In the different pages of this website you will find lots if information about Sandbach & District Talking Newspaper. You will also learn how you can receive the Talking Newspaper, how you can help us to help others and how you can let us know what you think of the service we provide.

The operating costs of this free service are covered by donations and fundraising activities by our members who work on a purely voluntary basis. One very important source of funds for our service is the sponsorship provided by local organisations. Our service is often referred to by our listeners as their “Lifeline”! If you wish to support us with a donation or any other kind of assistance, please go to the Help Us! page.

We hope you will enjoy looking at this website to learn what part our charity plays in supporting the visually impaired in the local area. In fact we hope you enjoy it as much as our members enjoy providing the free service.

20th Year Celebration!

In 2006 the Sandbach & District Talking Newspaper celebrated its 20th year of service. A number of special events in and around Sandbach during the year were arranged.

On Saturday 14th October Sandbach Town Hall was alive with the sound of music, provided by the Norseman Band, and much conviviality abounded to celebrate Sandbach & District Talking Newspaper being in existence for 20 years.  Listeners and readers were able to meet one another and civic dignitaries were also present.  Lady Ann Winterton, our President, kick-started the occasion with an introductory speech and cutting of the celebratory cake.
